FAQ
Do You Have Questions About Working With Me?
Therapy is a collaborative process where we explore your thought processes and emotions as they relate to patterns in your life. We learn new ways of thinking and feeling, heal relationship ruptures, and develop better strategies for connecting with others. My approach is direct, warm, dedicated, nonjudgemental and creative. I base my therapy on a synthesis of evidenced-based relationship practices, enhancing mind-body awareness, and integrating the research perspective of neuroscience. Expect humor, real life examples and practical tools to help you create lasting transformation.
Private pay clients choose not to involve insurance companies in their mental health or relationship care. Subsequently, their counseling is not limited by an official, third-party imposition of a diagnosis, treatment plan or session limits that insurance companies dictate. The result is greater freedom.
Many independent established therapists like me work in this fashion. If you wish to pursue insurance company reimbursement, it is your responsibility to do so. I will provide a receipt for my services. I will also happily email you the official insurance-standard code for the diagnosis I will be billing under, as well as the code for the type of session you received. (For example, individual or couples’ sessions). However, I will not communicate directly with your insurance company or sign insurance forms. If you choose to go the insurance option, you are responsible for working with your insurance company to submit a claim, fulfilling the informational requests they make, and dealing with potential denial of payment, audit requests or any other procedures that they may require before they might reimburse you. I cannot guarantee reimbursement from your insurance company for my therapy, so please double check with your insurance plan before you begin working with me.

Yes! As a body centered psychotherapist, I provide modalities such as energy healing, grounding techniques and breathwork, adapted to each client’s needs. These methods, which are informed by a restoration of mental health framework, focus on the connection between the body and mind and holistically support emotional and physical healing, as well as mental and spiritual learning and insight. In my counseling with you, you always have the choice whether or not to incorporate these complementary and alternative interventions.
After your initial evaluation, I will let you know if you may be a good candidate for them. The methods I utilize – if you choose to use them – are explained in greater detail in the consent form you’ll receive from me once you schedule an initial intake session.
